The Dog that was Lost by Devin

One time there was a dog that had no home so I took the dog to my house. I asked my mom if I could keep it and she said yes.  She said it needed a bath and I agreed with her. When I asked my dad he said no. So dad and I took it to the forest but it came back to my house. I asked my dad if I could keep it one more time. He said yes, and I said thank you dad.

So I kept the dog and gave him some dog food and water. Finally, I built a gate in my back yard by myself and the dog loved it.

I think I can…
I know I can…
But what can I be…
Teacher or vet, mayor or doctor.
I’ll be a teacher.
I think I can do it.
What will I need?
I’ll need a GED & degree.
But maybe I can’t.
Oh yes I can do it.
With my own classroom.
My own class.
My own board & markers.
My classroom will have a blue wall.
The chairs will be soft.
I’ll have lots of books.
I think I can.
I know I can.

Gymnastics Teacher by Destiny
Still waiting to get my chance to be it,
Waiting for my students to come.
They are going to do splits, back bends,
Handstands, stick walk, & back flips.

I hope most of them already know
How to do most of the stuff, or it
will be a disaster. I’m shaking in
the inside; I’m so nervous, I hope they signed
a form so I won’t be responsible if they break something.

Here they come. I’m going to faint, there are its so many of them. I
don’t know what to do. What should I tell them to do?
I’ll watch and see what they already know.  I’ll be so lucky if they already
know how to do all that stuff. Woo o yeah!

Bike Rider by Maalik
One day my dad took me outside. He brought my bike and he told me, “You are going to ride a bike.” I felt very happy as I told myself, I think I can I think I can. I got on the bike he gave me a push. Then I was riding my bike!

He put a down a ramp and told me to jump the ramp. I told myself again, I think I can I think I can. I started going and I felt happy. Then I did it. I went very high in the air and I landed! That time was the time I learned how to ride a bike.

Once I went to the skating rink with my brother and my mom and dad. Actually my brother went with my dad and I went with my mom.

When I was at the skating rink I fell on my butt. My brother even fell on his butt. Josh kept falling on his butt and he finally came to play a game called limbo.  My mom had to hold me up. My dad had to hold me up, too. I said I THINK I CAN and I did it!

Something New by Jakiah

Now I do
it all the time!
It is really fun
and I love it!

Bryce
Once upon a time there was a boy named Bryce. One day he was about to jump a ramp on his bike then he said I think I can. When he did the ramp he stood on his seat and was 3 feet in the air. He thought he was going to crash. He looked like he was sad then he put his bike up and went in the house.

When he went in the house he ate, played the Wii, and went to bed. One day Bryce tried it again. He got on his bike and he did a ramp. He did a front flip off his bike and landed back on it and he said I will not do that again.

I was really happy. I went on and rode my bike. When my mom got home I showed her. Then I came inside to have lunch.

Just by one point. They gave us money. After I got some ice cream.

Trying To Ride My Bike by Kiya

One day I was about seven or six years old and it was a sunny day. I was riding my bike up and down the sidewalk. Then, I said I think I can I think I can. I was riding back and my bike was swirling and I held tightly and started to tilt and the bike fell right on top of me. It was mostly my fault if I wasn’t moving the handle it wouldn’t be swirling around. Then, I learned my lesson, never swirl your handle but, I eventually learned when I was seven.

Helping Ladies by Zaccheaus

The Haunted Ghost by Shadaye

One day on Halloween a girl named Rebecca went to a haunted house. It was close to eleven. She went in thinking someone was there. There was. Many people backed away from the house. Rebecca looked out the window and when she turned around she saw a very, very bright glow.

That night the moon was full. People screamed when they saw something peeking through the broken window. “What was that?” said Rebecca. She opened the door on the right; nothing was there. She opened the door to the left and she saw the carvings of a pumpkin. She went into the kitchen and the doors slammed shut. She jinxed herself by thinking she wasn’t going to scream. She did.

She was wondering what was that sound she heard. The sound went like this—booooo. She froze as frozen as she could be. She screamed once again. She got taken away and never ever came back!

Happy New Year's! Do you have a resolution?

Picture
My resolution is reading. I will read 45 minutes a day. That is how I will get better. I really want to read better. I will read hard words everyday. I will ask people to help me with my reading.   Keyshun

My resolution is keeping my room clean. My room is where I sleep. If my room is dirty I can’t sleep in there. I need to keep my room clean. Sometimes my brother will help me. When it’s clean I can find things better.    Maalik

My resolution is being as smart as a 4th grader. The reason why is so that when I get to 4th grade I will know a lot and be ready to go to 5th grade. To do that I will have to study hard. My teacher can help with that. I can do it.   Lavonda

My resolution is paying attention. I will listen to my teacher when she is talking. I will not put my fingers in my mouth. I will not fall asleep in class. That is how I will pay attention.    Destiny

Beast at Night by Joseph
He scares people.
He comes out at night
From his cave,
Black with sharp things
On the ground and ceiling.

If somebody walks by
He hides then
Comes out and scares them.
His black grizzly fur
Covers his body.
His claws are big and
Long and sharp.
He can scratch you
And you will bleed
Don’t mess with the
Beast at night!

Haunted House Poem by Breanna
It was a dark night
The sun was down
And I was alone riding my
Bike and suddenly
I came to a house
And the gate creep opened
I went in the
Gate and I went
To the door and
Some weird man came
Out and grabbed
Me and he put
Me a sleep and
I woke up and
I was in a dark
Room then I found
My way out
Do not go to the
Haunted house!

Haunted Halloween by Destiny
Halloween was scary,
He was very hairy.
My candy bag was filled,
I hope I don’t get killed.
Spiders crawled down my back,
All the way down my back.
A skeleton was walking behind me
But it wasn’t really anybody.
I said, “Trick or treat, smell
My feet, Give me something good
To eat. If you don’t, I don’t care I
Will pull on your underwear.”

The Haunted House on the Dead End by Lavonda
There is a house.
This house is on a dead end.
It is supposed to haunted.
Bats fly all around it.
Noises come from the house.

I went to the house.
On Halloween night, scared as can be.
I pull up my sleeves, I saw goosebumps.

Bam! Thunder struck. I fell on the ground.
Then I saw something run in front of me.
It looks like a shadow.
Then the gate opened and crept open.
I walked up the steps.

The door opened making a bad sound.
I walked in.
There were voices telling me to leave.
Black cats ran by.
Then I saw skeletons, werewolves, witches,
Ghosts and goblins.
I screamed and ran.
I fell and scraped my knee.
I climbed the ladder.
I saw an old dusty fireplace.
I jumped out the window.
Then I landed on my feet.
I ran out of the gate
And never went back.

When I got home
I was missing a piece of my clothes.

No one ever went back again.

The Haunted House on Park Avenue by Chrishonna
Once upon a time there was a haunted house. It was black and dark colors. There were spiderwebs all over it. It had been a long time since somebody lived there.

On Halloween, Sanaa went to trick or treat there. She saw a sign that said, “KEEP OUT!” She knocked on the door and it creaked open slowly. She went in and said, “Hello,” but nobody answered. She decided to go upstairs. She walked into the attic and found a skeleton. It said, “Sanaa, Happy Halloween!” She screamed and tried to escape. Suddenly the doors slammed and a ghost flew by. It picked her pup and flew her out the window. Shanaa did not come back forever.

Creeping, creeping, down the stairs. I heard somebody screaming. I hollered then I ran  back to my room. I got under my covers then I peeked out and I saw somebody run across my room. I got back up then I walked and walked. My bathroom light was on then somebody was behind me. It was really dark so I went to my brother’s room. He was not there so I turned on the light but it did not work. I felt something on my feet then…then… I bumped into my brother. I asked, “What are you doing?” and went back to bed. The next morning I ate then went to school but I kept thinking that I really saw something. That night at bedtime I got into bed and finally knew that it felt all right to sleep.
