I was 5 years old when one day I went swimming at Noble Park. The first thing I wanted to do was go on the water slide. It looked long and pleasant, white and blue and loopy. I got in line. A girl said you have to be this height, but I was.

When I lied down and crossed my arms somebody came behind me and pushed me. I hit the end of the slide. Splash, the water. My face looked like my eyebrows went up. Some people said my eyes looked like they rolled back in my head slowly. I was trying to scream as I tried to jump out so I wouldn’t drown.

I Think I Can by Amari
Once I went to the Talon Falls Haunted House. The line was long, like a mile long. I was looking everywhere because ghosts will chase you.

Finally I went in. It was pitch dark. My mouth dropped. Lights were going off and on. It was like a pathway. There were people standing as still as a statue. I went in the door. The door said R.I.P. I found out the people that were at the door were not statues they were real people! They chased me everywhere. As soon as I saw the sign that said exit I said I think I can. I did it. I escaped that terrible scary place.

I Think I Can by Brijae
In the future I think I can be the next American Idol because I practice a lot in my room plus my mom and my dad said I do pretty good. The reason why I think I can do it is because I tried my best to get into American Idol.

When I got into my mom’s car I was getting ready to go to New England. We pulled out of the driveway onto the road and we were on our way to New England.

I got my book where I keep my secrets at and I started to think of something nice about someone so I started off with my mother because she is taking me to NewEngland and that cost a lot of money for gas, to get inside the building and to get me some candy. So I was putting my mom on my book where I keep my secrets until we finally got to the building.  I was so shocked I couldn’t even walk.

When I was practicing this man came in and wanted to hear me sing so he could get it on camera.  Finally it was the night to sing! I was so nervous.  Here I go on the stage, getting ready to sing in front of the crowd.  I said to the crowd, “Tonight I’m singing single ladies by beyonce.”  My first 4 words were all my single ladies.  When I got finished they told me I am going to Hollywood!  I was jumping up and down.  After I got done I said to myself I have to start a new day tomorrow. I think I can handle it!

A Crazy Risk For Me by George
Hello, I’m George Donelson. I tried something you would not believe if I told you. It all started when I was 8 years old. It was me George, and my brother Jamey.  The time was noon or 12:00.We were at Oliver Church Road and we were about to jump our new ramp.

The problem was that I had a new bike and the chain was coming off. It would come on, then off, then on. After we checked it, finally the chain stayed on. My brother went first. He started slow. Then he sped up. Next thing you know he was going 15 miles per hour. He nailed the ramp. He nailed a foot and a half of a ramp.

I was so proud of my brother but I still had to make it. My face looked like a spider had torn a hole in it. I was laughing outside but on the inside I was crying deeply.  I did not want to do this, but when you put 5 dollars on the line, you have to do this.

So my brother was saying kk kk kk  kk . I did it. I was surprised at myself. I was shocked at first, but now I will not be scared anymore of big long ramp.

                                                      Me First By George

Whether he got there or not it was nothing but a sand cake person . the sand cake made him do all his chores. Do the laundry, wash dishes, and clean his house .When he got done he said “who wants asand cake he said oooooooooohhhhhhhhh   and ran as fast as he could.

It was a  real sand cake but he was gone. Now on he is last in everything .EVERYTHING.

The first time I rode my bike was five years old. My dad said come here then we went outside. I was so happy I got my bike. I was red and shiny. The weather was sunny and it was cool. I got on it, and I rode it but I fell off. My dad said, “Are you all right?”

I said I think I can, I think I can and I tried again.

My tire was riding smooth . My turning was easy. It was so easy! I can’t believe I ever thought it was hard!

I thought again I thought I think I can. I got on my bike after getting all muddy. I stood up shut my eyes tight together and I said it again I think I can. I looked do embarrassed I got on my bike so scared that I cant do it everybody is going to laugh because I am going to fall. Everyone was cheering me on. I was ready ready my feet were ready to peddle. My hands were ready to turn my wheel. Then everybody was yelling go Makiyah you can do it. I was thinking why would you want to take my training wheels off my paw paw and me maw said do not be scared. My face looked like I wanted to cry. I start riding my bike and every time I fell gosh I do not want to get back on my bike. I was very disappointed! I was disappointed because everybody was laughing at me especially my brothers. My mom said that I could do it do not matter I am going to get muddy any way. I really started crying out loud because I have never tried to ride a bike without tricycles. My mom said don’t cry it is okay. Then I thought to myself once again I think I can.  I said it once more. I got on my bike and took off into the night. Then I caught my balance. You would never believe this I started riding my bike at the age of 5 years old. My mom was like I am impressed you are really good. Everybody could not wait to have a good night sleep after a long day teaching me how to ride my bike.

The dog was enormous. He was black and white. I was about to go home but the dog came in front of the door. I was trying to jump over the dog but it didn’t work because I tripped. Next I said I think I can, the dog came up to me. I pet the dog.  I got to know the dog when I said I think I can. I thought would be my friend from now on.

I Think I Can by Atira
I think I can, I think I can.
I think I can do better at
Being nicer than I
Really am. Like being nicer
To my little sister, big sister,
My mom’s boyfriend, and his daughter.
But the people I really need to be nicer
To are my mom’s boyfriend and his daughter.
I have to be nicer to them because I am usually
Mad at them because they get on my nerves
All the time because Kim, Rodney, and my sisters
Are always messing with me.
Like calling me name like stupid, or ugly.
Then we get into fights and if I get hurt I call my granny.
My granny calls my mom. And my mom calls
And tells us to go to our room.  My little sister’s dad passed away and they think she’s special so I try to be nice to her but it doesn’t work.
That’s what I think I can do.

HAUNTING HOUSE by Brijae
Once upon a time there were best friends heading to a Haunting House for a Halloween party.  A girl was putting on lipstick and after that they played a game called Guess the Voice.  They played the game in the mirror.  The girl’s name was Ashley.  She looked in the mirror put her mouth wide open and just then a ghost was coming from a basement and he went into her mouth. While her other friends were playing a game in a bedroom, she came in with yellow eyes with red bumps, vampire teeth and she was the color blue.  They all screamed and they all jumped out of the room.  When she looked in the mirror she saw her regular teeth, bumps and skin color.  The friends headed home but the gate wasn’t there…it was a brick wall.  They were in big danger.  A policeman came and because the ghost is scared of cops, the ghost went back to the basement.

IT IS THE HOUSE OF USHER by Jhari
There once was a man and a woman but on that day also a little baby and they were singing to the baby and then the baby slipped out of the woman’s hands and fell and thorns were in it’s body.  Then she made her husband die by putting poison in his food but he made her die too by putting poison in her food.  Their house has been haunted ever since.  Some little boys came to the house of Usher and when they came inside the door slammed and three ghosts came and said beware of the long swamp.  It is a valley of death.  The man and woman snatched them and put them in a room of spiders and they had to get a key to get out of the house of Usher.  The ghosts lied about the key because it only made the boys weak and old.  They wandered around the house and saw the key on the dinner table and they got out and one of the boys said, “I don’t want to go there again.”

THE SPOOKY HOUSE by Amari
We have just in our new house and there is a house the looks spooky across the street.  it is very quiet but at night it is not.  An old spooky man lives there.  He digs holes in his back yard.  The paint is falling off the house.  He stays in the house for a long time though.  At night I hear my water hose going on and off.  The UPS people do not ring the doorbell, he sets on the first step.  One time this little person went to ask if he wanted to buy some cookies but he yells at her saying no!  When it is raining he is outside.  When I was watching a movie I left the door unlocked and he just walked in the house.  He said could he have something to drink.  I was speechless for a moment then I said sure then he left.  When he left I went to look and see where he went and he was gone.
